On this page I have given links to some of the very best websites in the United Kingdom and Ireland, from here you should be able to find further information on just about all things Dragonfly and Damselfly.

The home of the British Dragonfly Society the national body for the conservation and study of Odonata, here you can find a wealth of information on the subject  - simply click on the BDS logo to go to their website.

Loads of links covering the British Isles, Europe and the rest of the World.
Dragonfly Ireland is a super website devoted to all of the countries species, plus a wealth of interesting information and superb images....really is a must visit site.

The homepage for The Dragonflies of Montgomeryshire a website that provides the visitor to this area of Wales a chance to find out more about it's species and where to see them....worth a visit...oh and you can also find the discussion forum for Dragonflies of Wales on this website.

Simon Wantling's website may be primarily moths but it also has a nice dragonfly section, why not pay a visit and enjoy it's friendly, relaxed style and also get some help from the forum members with that problem dragonfly species identification query you have.

The National Biodiversity Network is the 'gateway' to a wealth of wildlife
records for your area no matter what part of the United Kingdom you live.

No apologies for including the website of the Glamorgan Moth Recording Group. This website is run under the auspices of the South East Wales Bio-diversity Records Centre (SEWBReC).

The group was set up in 1995 by local moth-ers to study and record both macro and micro moths throughout Glamorgan (Vice County41).

Very often members of this group (myself included) post sightings of the dragonflies and damselflies seen within Glamorgan, making it a valuable local resource that deserves to go from strength to strength, and why not consider becoming a member, it cost's just £5 per annum.

SEWBReC is a not-for-profit making
organisation that uses and shares the information and records it receives from amateur naturalists throughout Glamorgan and Gwent. Since August 2005 SEWBReC has provided an essential source of much needed local bio-diversity information.
"SEWBReC provides a mechanism for collating, sharing and utilising the wealth of biological data which exists in Glamorgan and Gwent. The money that comes into the centre from providing services to it's partners, will be used to manage the data that it holds, and to support the community of amateur naturalists that supply those records to it."  Visit SEWBReC's newly re-designed website to find out how your wildlife records can help.

The Gwent branch of the Wildlife Trusts currently have over 30 reserves throughout the county and many support waters that provide the ideal 'protected' habitat requirements for many of the county's dragonfly species.

Visit their website at gwentwildlife for further details.

The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales website can be accessed by clicking on the logo below, this superb organisation covers an area from Cardiff/Caerphilly in the east to Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire in the west.

The website of the Gwent Ornithological Society can be visited not just to find what bird is where in Gwent (Monmouthshire) but is also a regular source of what Dragonfly has been seen within the county.

Most birders are also keen on other forms of wildlife, particularily if it's local to their regular visited locations, such as the Newport Wetlands/Gwent Levels or perhaps the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal, there are many such interesting locations within the county for it's birders to enjoy it's Dragonflies too!

Home of Glamorgan Birds where they share the website with their fellow birders of the Gower Ornithological Society, yet another great resource that often includes the latest Dragonfly sightings from Glamorgan.

The United Kingdom's premier conservation charity for the nation's Butterflies and Moths has an active South Wales Branch with members involved in seasonal activities on a volunteer basis throughout the area to help protect and improve habitat. Two or three branch Newsletters are published annually keeping members in touch.

Please Note: I trust that by providing any visitor to the Dragonfly-Days website with the above links I can also encourage further interest and perhaps membership participation in the societies, trusts, clubs and groups so named. Further I hope I have not infringed on any logo copyright, I have asked permission whenever possible to include these links, in the unlikely event of any organisation wanting a link removed I shall comply.
